If you have a chance, ask your grandparents or parents. They or their friends may have experienced life without shoes. In those poor times in Taiwan, many people died because of lack of shoes. Bacteria enter the body and lose their lives.
Doesn’t it sound like a fairy tale? But it is true, and it is still happening in some corners of the world, such as Africa. In sub-Saharan Africa, nearly a million people have no shoes to wear, which makes it easy for sand fleas to parasitize human skin and endanger life.
A pair of shoes can prolong a person’s life, and perhaps, it can also make a person full of hope and expectations for the future because of this pair of shoes. Last year, Daito Electric responded to the “Old Shoes Save Lives” campaign, and colleagues enthusiastically donated 8 large bags of shoes to faraway Africa. After a year, everyone’s shoe cabinet may have added a few pairs of very good shoes. If you have shoes that you rarely wear or even never wear, why not give them away to increase the space in your shoe cabinet and provide shoes for people who are in urgent need.
Daito Electric’s “Old Shoes Save Lives” campaign has been launched today. The initiator, Vice Chairman Li Yaling, has always been enthusiastic about charity. She believes that at the end of the year, colleagues can sort out their old clothes and shoes at home to save African children from the Losing a life without shoes is of great significance, so she once again invited colleagues to join in the effort to donate shoes and show love, and also welcomed Facebook friends to show their love and let Taiwan’s love fly to Africa and the world.
